At Bruce Smith Concreting, we’ve poured a lot of concrete across the over the years.
From residential driveways and house slabs to heavy commercial developments, every job comes with its own rewards. But every now and then, a project comes along that means so much more than standard cubic meters and steel mesh.
We are incredibly proud to share that our team recently completed the pro bono slab prep and pour for the Build It For The Kids project - an amazing initiative supporting the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, run in partnership with the Murphy Group.
Laying the Groundwork for a Great Cause
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation holds a deeply profound place in the heart of our local community. Their tireless work in child safety education, supporting young victims of crime, and keeping our kids safe across Australia is nothing short of heroic.
When the call went out to support the Build It For The Kids initiative, there was zero hesitation from our team. We knew immediately that we wanted to donate our time, skill, equipment, and expertise to get this job done right.
From Prep to Pour: Work with a Purpose
A strong, durable house starts from the ground up, and that’s where our crew stepped in.

Our team cleared, levelled, and compacted the base to ensure optimal ground stability, setting up precise edge formwork to define the slab boundaries.

We laid down high-grade vapor barriers and tied in the steel rebar matrix to give the foundation maximum tensile strength and structural integrity.

Working alongside Murphy Group, our crew handled the placement, screeding, and mechanical trowel finishing to deliver a smooth, level slab ready for framing.
