When Arana Leagues Club set out to revamp their outdoor areas to create a modern, welcoming space for members and families, we were excited to take on the concreting works alongside Ashley Cooper Construction.
High-traffic hospitality venues demand a unique combination of structural durability, functional drainage, and clean aesthetic finishes, and this project delivered on all fronts.
Setting the Stage for Outdoor Hospitality
Arana Leagues Club has long been a staple hub in Keperra, bringing together footy fans, local families, and community groups. The goal of the outside upgrade was simple: build an expansive, durable, and stylish outdoor entertaining space that seamlessly transitions from daytime dining to evening gatherings.
To support heavy foot traffic, outdoor dining setups, and Queensland’s unpredictable weather, the new concrete footprint needed to be rock-solid and meticulously finished.
Our Concreting Process
Upgrading an active venue requires precise planning to minimise disruptions while meeting strict commercial specifications.

We cleared the legacy external areas, levelled the subgrade, and engineered proper slope dynamics to guarantee long-term water runoff away from key entrances.

Detailed formwork was set up around structural posts, garden beds, and drainage channels. Heavy-duty steel reinforcement mesh was tied in to withstand decades of commercial use.

Our crew executed a seamless slab pour, applying high-durability surface finishes designed to offer slip resistance without sacrificing style or ease of cleaning.
Built to Last: Key Features of the Build
Slip-Resistant Texture: Safety is critical in hospitality. We utilized a specialized commercial finish ensuring great grip underfoot, even during wet weather.
Integrated Drainage Solution: Strategic falls were engineered directly into the concrete surface to keep outdoor dining areas dry during summer downpours.
Heavy-Duty Load Capacity: Reinforced steel specifications mean the outdoor slab can easily support heavy external furniture, plant containers, and high-volume foot traffic without cracking.
