Our Story
Bruce Smith Concreting is built on a foundation of over 60 years of combined family experience, spearheaded by Bruce Smith, a concreter with over 40 years in the industry. Starting his career at the age of 19, Bruce gained extensive experience in Wollongong, Bundaberg, and Toowoomba, working on diverse projects from mines and bridges to high-rise buildings. His dedication to high-quality concrete solutions for civil, residential, and commercial projects led him to establish Bruce Smith Concreting.
The company's roots began in Bundaberg, Bruce's adopted hometown, and expanded to the Southern Downs as his four sons entered high school. This strategic growth naturally extended the service area to include the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane, and rural Queensland. Bruce instilled his passion and expertise in his sons, who began assisting with the business from a young age and later completed concreting apprenticeships within the company.
Today, Bruce Smith Concreting is a testament to family collaboration and quality solutions. Alesha Parkinson-Smith plays a vital role as the current sole director, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Each of Bruce's sons contributes unique skills to the company. Phoyx-Martin, the eldest, leverages his experience in machinery operation, project administration, and leadership honed through his military service. Nykodah brings over eight years of experience as a top-tier finisher. Mannyx, with six years of experience, excels in all aspects of concreting, from set-out to finishing, and remains a valuable asset despite pursuing a career in environmental science. And, Menphys-Reyne, despite being the youngest, demonstrates exceptional proficiency in all concreting tasks. Bruce's dedication to transferring his knowledge ensures that his sons uphold his high standards of workmanship.

Looking to the future with the second generation, we launched a modern rebrand in 2024. This evolution retains the BSC name, honouring Bruce Smith, and our signature colours, while the dragon now embodies strength, prosperity, and wisdom, signifying our renewed direction.
